Therefore, they require special protection and care during handling, installation, and storage. Once damaged, they may create significant hidden risks at the sealing points.
1. Do not damage the sealing surface or sealing line on the surface of the seal

2. Do not force the installation
Some seals are installed in grooved stuffing boxes and therefore require a close-fit installation. During installation, do not use rough or violent methods. Forcing the seal into place with excessive force will inevitably damage its original prefabricated structure. This is similar to breaking up prefabricated concrete and filling it into the required location, which would inevitably lead to a disaster. Such seals must be installed very carefully and meticulously, with the insertion carried out gradually in stages;
3. Maintain balance and symmetry during installation
Position the seal precisely so that it tightly engages with the effective sealing surface (or lip line). After the system is commissioned, further observation and follow-up tightening of the seal should be carried out to prevent minor leakage caused by changes in operating conditions, such as increased pressure, from resulting in a catastrophic failure during system operation.
Seals that are temporarily not in use should be stored properly
1. Prevent aging: Protect from light and moisture, store flat, and keep away from heat and cold sources;
2. Do not apply pressure: Keep the seal in its naturally relaxed state and do not apply external force that could alter its physical shape;
3. Classify and label: Indicate the same external shape, different materials, application locations, applicable standards, receipt dates, and other relevant information.
