Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) valve seats are widely used in floating and fixed ball valves. Molded PEEK products offer the heat resistance and chemical stability of thermosetting plastics, as well as the molding and processing properties of thermoplastics. PEEK has a compressive strength of 118 MPa, a Shore 80D hardness, and a long-term service temperature of 260℃. Glass fiber reinforcement can increase the service temperature to 300℃–350℃, while carbon fiber reinforcement can increase it to 500℃. Its tensile strength is 162 MPa and flexural strength is 233 MPa. Except for concentrated sulfuric acid and nitric acid, it can resist the erosion of most organic and inorganic solvents and withstand a long-term pressure of 2500 pounds.
