Overview


FEP, also known as F46, is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and hexafluoropropylene, and is a modified material of polytetrafluoroethylene. It is a soft plastic whose tensile strength,

wear resistance, and creep resistance are lower than those of many engineering plastics. It has properties similar to those of polytetrafluoroethylene, as well as the excellent processing performance of thermoplastics. 

Therefore, it overcomes the processing difficulties of polytetrafluoroethylene, making it a material that can replace polytetrafluoroethylene. It has been widely used in the production of wire and cable and other industries.


PFA resin is a relatively new melt-processable fluoroplastic. The melting point of PFA is approximately 305℃, and its density is 2.13—2.16g/㎤. PFA is similar to PTFE and

IFEP. However, above 302T, its mechanical properties are slightly superior to those of FEP. It can be used at temperatures up to 260℃, and its chemical resistance is equivalent to that of PTEP.

PFA products are available in granular form for molding and extrusion, and in powder form for rotational molding and coatings. Its semi-finished products include films, sheets, rods, and tubes.
